RABAT, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's postal service company Barid Al-Maghrib Group (GBAM) has signed three cooperation agreements with the Chinese postal operator China Post Group, GBAM said in a statement on Monday.
Signed by GBAM Managing Director Amin Benjelloun and China Post Group Chairman Li Guohua, the agreements aim at strengthening e-commerce exchanges and facilitating money transfers between Morocco and China, the statement said.
These agreements are a part of GBAM's determination to continue its international partnerships and strengthen its cooperation with the Chinese postal institution, the statement said.
The agreements came after a memorandum of understanding was signed in September 2017 between GBAM and China Post Group, which highlighted sharing between the two groups, notably through joint development of financial services, in particular electronic funds transfers as well as banking and postal services.
The three new cooperation agreements decided the creation of a marketplace for e-commerce to promote Moroccan products through China Post Group's online shopping site Ule.com, and also provided for implementation of more e-commerce friendly services.
Moreover, the agreements seek to establish a money transfer service between China and Morocco, boosting cooperation between Al-Barid Bank, the Moroccan subsidiary of GBAM, and Postal Saving Bank of China, a subsidiary of China Post Group.
