BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Leading Party members with the State Council on Monday pledged to safeguard authority of China's Constitution, and perform government functions in accordance with law.
At a meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang, the leading Party members' group of the State Council studied the spirit of the second plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The State Council, China's cabinet, will step up its efforts on enacting, revising, abolishing and interpreting administrative regulations, said the statement issued after the meeting.
The cabinet will also ensure normative documents, which violate the Constitution or do not meet the requirements of development, to be redressed or revoked.
Aiming to improve government credibility and administrative efficiency, the State Council will promote stricter and more standardized law enforcement, according to the statement.
A proposal from the CPC Central Committee on a revision to the Constitution was adopted at the plenary session held between Jan. 18-19.
Major theoretical achievements, principles and policies adopted at the 19th CPC National Congress should be incorporated into the revision, according to a communique issued after the session.
Vice Premiers Zhang Gaoli and Wang Yang attended Monday's meeting.
