Born in a remote village in Jiangxi Province in 1953, Zou Daying once worked in a community before retirement in 2013. During the time, she always shared her self-made chilli sauce with neighbors, which gradually became popular among them. In 2013, 60-year-old Zou started up her business to produce condiments including chilli sauce following her retirement from the community. Due to its unique taste and high quality, her product gains recognition among more and more consumers. Over one million bottles of condiments were sold in 2017. Zou employed impoverished villagers in priority in her company and also set up a chilli growing cooperative to help them get ride of poverty. (Xinhua/Wan Xiang)
