Comments with hand-drawn comics made by Yu Xiaolan are seen on student assignments at the Nanjing School for the Deaf in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, March 4, 2019. Having spent 17 years with hearing-impaired students at the Nanjing School for the Deaf, Yu Xiaolan has never regretted her choice as a teacher here. "I still remember the day when I came to the campuse for the job interview," said Yu, "I could see students running on the playground, just like the normal kids of other schools, but I couldn't hear even a small sound. I was deeply touched and decided to stay." Yu has ever since dedicated herself to the hearing-impaired students. "It's not that easy to get access to the inner world of the students here, but once they accept you, they would place great trust in you," said Yu. "I am trying my best to help them grow up. I really hope they would have a bright future." (Xinhua/Ji Chunpeng)
