BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand respectively in Beijing.
Wang conveyed President Xi Jinping and his wife's cordial greetings and best wishes to King Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath.
While applauding the irreplaceable role of the King in promoting the development of the China-Cambodia friendly relationship, Wang said China, Cambodia and other Asian countries should learn from each other with mutual tolerance so as to jointly safeguard the excellent traditions of Asia and create a better future for the continent.
King Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath asked Wang to convey their sincere greetings and high respect to President Xi and his wife, and expressed a willingness to join hands with China and carry forward the traditional friendship to promote continuous development of bilateral relations.
When meeting Princess Sirindhorn, Wang said she was an "envoy of friendship" as it was the 48th visit by the princess to China. The Thai royal family has made major contributions to promoting China-Thailand friendly relations and deepening the mutual beneficial cooperation, Wang said.
China stands ready to work with Thailand to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries and continuously deepen cooperation in various fields, he said.
Princess Sirindhorn expressed gratitude to China's support and assistance in Thailand's education, scientific research as well as poverty alleviation in remote areas.
